Cuppa and cake at the Décor room

ARARAT’S Decor Room hosted its Biggest Morning Tea recently, welcoming locals in for a generous homemade spread of sweet and savoury treats while raising funds for the Cancer Council.

Decor Room’s Hayden Cooper said the fundraiser was about supporting an important cause.

“I believe it’s a good event, raising money for the Cancer Council, it’s a good cause and brings people in and brings people together,” he said.

After spending four days cooking and preparing for the event, Hayden joked there was still plenty of food remaining.

“There’s even more still in the fridge,” he said.

The morning tea proved a strong success, with donations already reaching about $1,500 before final cash collections were counted.

The event highlighted the generosity of the local community and its willingness to support cancer research and awareness initiatives.
