Farewell Tim, welcome Declan

TIM Hill is a well known face around farms across the Pyrenees Shire.

But Tim has decided to hang up his boots and officially retire from his job as a stock and station agent with Elders.

His retirement marks the end of an era, but also the beginning of an exciting new chapter with the arrival of Declan Haines, a passionate young stock agent with deep roots in the Australian livestock industry.

Tim's journey in Avoca began a quarter of a century ago when he and his wife Kerryn arrived with their young family.

From day one, Tim immersed himself in the local community — not only as a trusted livestock agent but also as a familiar face at sporting clubs, charity events, and fundraising auctions.

Whether donning the number 8 jumper for Natte Bealiba or calling bids to support local causes, Tim's presence was heartfelt, dependable, and always appreciated.

"I've immersed myself in the Avoca and district community and have thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it,” he said.

The hundreds of relationships he's forged and the memories he carries are a true testament to the kind of person he is - genuine, grounded, and generous.

Declan Haines brings a wealth of practical knowledge and a passion for livestock that began on his family's cattle farm near Carcoar, New South Wales.

From fencing and farm contracting to completing the Elders Livestock Trainee Program, Declan has gained hands-on experience across key agricultural regions including Hamilton, Jerilderie, Gunnedah, Wagga Wagga and Ballarat.

With a strong foundation in livestock marketing, agency operations, and client relationships, Declan is ready to build upon the trust and reputation that Tim leaves behind.

Known for being hard-working, approachable, and dedicated, Declan is looking forward to becoming part of the Avoca community and carrying on the legacy of service that Elders clients have come to know and expect.

Elders invites members of the local community to farewell Tim and welcom Declan at a special gathering at the Elders Avoca office at 6pm on Friday the 5th of September.

Come along to share your memories, offer your thanks, and help welcome the next chapter in Elders Avoca's story.
